Singed by Matt Campbell, Hall arrived in Ames as the true-freshman successor to recently drafted Iowa State running back David Montgomery.
Breaking out as a freshman with a 132-yard and three-touchdown performance against West Virginia, Hall continued to break ankles and punish tacklers while racking up 1,149 yards and 10 touchdowns in his freshman campaign. Hall started his sophomore season with eight consecutive games with over 100 yards rushing and finished the season as the FBS leader in rushing with 1,572 yards on 279 carries while racking up 23 total touchdowns. Names first-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year, he further etched his name in Cyclone lore as the first unanimous All-American in school history.
By October 2, Hall stood poised to shatter the Iowa State rushing touchdown record against Kansas. In a 59-7 romp, Hall set the record on his first of two rushing touchdowns with a 9-yard score during the first half. Drafted in the second round by the New York Jets in 2022, Hall left Ames as one of the greatest gridiron legends in Cyclone history. #IowaOTD #IowaHistoryDaily #IowaHistoryCalendar
