Growing up in eastern Iowa, Quigley attended Garfield Elementary and Sudlow Middle School before attending Bettendorf High School. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles with her family. Working at a health sap, Quigley’s coworkers encouraged her to take up acting.

After a few commercials and small parts, she eventually found her way into “Don’t Go Near the Park” and the slasher film “Graduation Day” during 1981. Quigley also played guitar in an all-female band called “Mad Whistle” during the early 1980s before eventually starting another band called “The Skirts.”

Best known for her role in 1985’s “The Return of the Living Dead,” Quigley starred in dozens of horror films over a decades long career. Quigley also authored three books: “The Linnea Quigley Bio & Chainsaw Book,” “I'm Screaming as Fast as I Can: My Life in B-Movies,” and “Skin.” #IowaOTD #IowaHistoryDaily #IowaHistoryCalendar
