Iowa Time Machine ⏰: On October 22, 1992, legendary Iowa Hawkeye hooper Samantha Logic was born. An all-time great NCAA women’s basketball player, Logic left a hardwood legacy while starring at Iowa from 2011-2016.
Logic turned heads as a McDonald’s All-American, WBCA All-American, Parade All-American, and Gatorade Player of the Year for Wisconsin while dominating at J.I. Case High School in Racine, Wisconsin. Committed to Coach Lisa Bluder, Logic arrived in Iowa City after averaging 15 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 3.6 steals as a senior. Logic transitioned to the college-game well while starting all 31 games for the Hawkeyes during her freshman year while leading the team in rebounding and assists.
A third-team All-Big 10 selection as a sophomore, Logic led the Big Ten in assists per game. She continued to develop her game and broke out nationally during the 2013-2014 season as a junior. Named an honorable mention All-American by the AP, Logic moved into position as Iowa’s all-time assists leader and became the first Big Ten player to ever record three triple-doubles in the same season. Logic went on to accumulate records and accolades and finished her career as the only player in NCAA history to rack up at least 1,500 career points, 800 rebounds, 800 assists, and 200 steams.
The first player ever invited to attend the WNBA Draft in person. Logic went 10th overall to the Atlanta Dream. Logic also played for the San Antonio Stars before playing overseas through 2017.
